Company History

Metro Roof Products’ ownership and management team has a wealth of experience in the manufacturing and marketing of stone coated metal roofing products. Metro Roof Products has experienced tremendous growth since its formal factory opening in January 2000 and has become a leading manufacturer of stone-coated steel roofing products. The Metro USA state of the art manufacturing facility is located in Oceanside California USA on four acres of land and produces a wide range of stone-coated steel roofing product profiles to suit almost any architecture. Metro has built a strong leadership position in this industry and has a series of “firsts” to its name: FIRST with a “Concealed fastener,” direct-to-deck stone-coated SHINGLE panel – 1997 FIRST with a “Rake Channel” with an integrated “Locator-Lip” design for easy install & added weather protection – 2000 FIRST with a “Nail-on” batten-less, direct-to-deck stone-coated shake panel – 2002 FIRST with a fully integrated stone-coated roof vent “Metro SMART-Vent” panel – 2003 FIRST with the SMART-Jack pipe flashing & SMART-Sleeve pipe cover – 2004 All of which add up to “Smart Roofs for Smart People™”.

Installation Details

Metro Installation Details Metro panels can be installed using a BATTEN or BATTEN-LESS install method, with either system the panel is the same. Simply select the method of installation you will use and download/print the PDF file for that system. INSTALLATION WARNING! These installation details are provided to demonstrate a recommended installation method for Metro roof panels and accessories. The details and information in this document reflect current roofing practices used in the United States. Installers of Metro roof panels & accessories should, have knowledge of roof structures, an understanding of how to work with stone-coated steel panels and accessories and be experienced at working on sloped roof environments. Metro recommends installers of its products use a Metro Installation Kit (1-Cutter, 1-Foot Bender & 1-Foot Bender Attachment) and to have completed a ‘SMART-Start On-Site Installer Training Orientation Program’ (http://metroroofs.com/SmartStartTraining.cfm) for each profile they attempt to install. Metro does not consider its products to be a ‘Do-It-Yourself’ (D.I.Y) product, mainly due to the need for specialized cutting & bending tools used during installation.
